These guidelines have been given to start Mini Projects for fresh Engineering Technology undergraduates during the Orientation and Intensive English period as part of requirement for their degree programme in order to sustain creativity and enthusiasm of new students. Mini Projects are intended to prepare students for investigating and finding solutions to problems through their own initiatives and efforts while utilizing resources available to them in the University. It will also lead to develop social and students’ skills such as creativity, imagination, team work, leadership, communication, and time management skills in addition to enhancing their ability to identify, formulate and solve problems. Areas of Mini Projects are not confined to engineering and technology but can be driven by the interests and capabilities of individual students groups. This module carries no credits but becomes a mandatory requirement to pass to satisfy the graduation requirements of the degree programme. Group formation, connection to learning objectives, and fairness of assessment are to be guaranteed through a carefully laid out guidelines through the documented process specified herein.
